Our Staff

Ms. Montes-Sosa has a bachelor’s degree in education. Her family and teachers growing up inspired Ms. Montes-Sosa to become a teacher. Learning English as a second language made an impact on her life that made the world of difference for her in the best way! Ms. Montes-Sosa has taught English for many years, but she wanted to provide a creative space for students and now teaches Art for our students. Outside of the classroom you can find Ms. Montes-Sosa making ceramics, hiking, and reading!

Ms. Demellites has a bachelor’s degree in education. Educators who made a lasting impact on her life inspired Ms. Demellites to become an educator. She finds fulfillment in helping others learn and grow, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment. Ms. Demellites commits to creating a collaborative and inclusive learning environment. She dedicates herself to working together with all stakeholders to ensure the best educational experience for her students. Outside of the classroom, Ms. Demellites enjoys playing volleyball, dancing, and taking road trips!

Ms. Walker has a master’s degree in education. The hardships she experienced as a student inspired Ms. Walker to become an educator, and meeting her fourth-grade teacher inspired her to emulate her teacher's kindness and to help struggling kids. Ms. Walker is a dedicated and empathetic teacher; she loves to make learning fun and impactful for her students. Outside of the classroom, Ms. Walker enjoys practicing yoga, going on hikes, and traveling!

Ms. Fioravante has a bachelor’s degree in education. Ms. Fioravante developed a love for teaching from her fifth-grade math teacher when she was going to school. Her teacher showed her compassion, care and empathy and feels that teaching is one of the professions that can change the world! Ms. Fioravante wants each of her students to succeed not just academically but in every aspect of life. She carefully plans her lessons to motivate her students and show them how awesome math is! Outside of the classroom, Ms. Fioravante enjoys hiking, bowling, and cooking!

Mr. Ramirez has a bachelor’s degree in education. His parents inspired him to become a teacher by teaching him vital values and life skills. He is passionate about contributing to students’ growth in a positive way. Mr. Ramirez believes learning is beyond textbooks and preparing his students for life’s challenges. His goal for his students is to inspire curiosity and creativity in his classroom. When he is not in the classroom, Mr. Ramirez enjoys playing sports, dancing, and singing.

Mr. Ruiz Rivera has a bachelor’s degree in education. Mr. Ruiz Rivera had planted a seed in his mind from a quote he read many years ago, “Be the person that you needed when you were younger.” This grew him into wanting to be the light in the lives of the leaders of tomorrow to encourage them to chase their dreams. Living through adversity, he managed to graduate valedictorian in 8th Grade, number 7 in his high school class, served honorably in the military and has now almost accomplished his master’s degree. He hopes to leave a lasting impression on all his students that will inspire them to try their best in all they can do. Outside of the classroom, Mr. Ruiz Rivera enjoys lifting weights, watching sports, and traveling!

Ms. Villalobos has a master’s degree in education. Ms. Villalobos believes teachers can set the foundation for success and lifelong learning experiences. Ms. Villalobos strives to have a positive, inspiring impact on her students throughout her career. Ms. Villalobos has taught in both schools at RESD No. 2 and has served over ten years in the district. When she is not in the classroom, Ms. Villalobos enjoys dancing, shopping, and traveling!

Mr. Gonzalez has a master’s degree in education. The remarkable teachers in his own life inspired him to become an educator. As an educator, Mr. Gonzalez commits to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. He believes in emphasizing critical thinking, empathy, resilience and preparing students not just for exams but for life beyond the classroom. Outside of the classroom, Mr. Gonzalez enjoys spending time with his family, playing soccer, and exploring new destinations.

Ms. Labastida has a bachelor’s degree in education. Ms. Labastida’s high school Math teacher inspired her to become an educator. Her teacher always encouraged his students to do their best in life and to never fear failure. She hopes to be as inspirational and memorable to each of her students. Ms. Labastida loves teaching and building students up to believe in themselves. Each day she continues to learn how to become the best educator she can be. Outside of the classroom, Ms. Labastida enjoys playing tennis, reading, and hiking!

Ms. Libarios has a bachelor’s degree in education. Ms. Libarios’s mother inspired her to become a teacher because her mother is also a teacher and she wanted to be just like her mom! She puts her all into her teaching each and every day. Learning is a collaborative effort with not only the students but with the parents and community. Ms. Libarios loves to cook and bake when she is not teaching! Since arriving to the USA from the Philippines she has found a love for reading novels.

Mr. Larot has a master’s degree in education. Mr. Larot’s mother inspired him to become a teacher by watching her passion to teach students and ensure they learned as much as they could from her! Mr. Larot believes if we can work together to embrace learning mathematics, we will achieve and see something different in our lives. In his spare time, Mr. Larot enjoys reading, playing online games and recently discovered a love for cooking!

Ms. Miranda has a bachelor’s degree in education. Her high school teacher inspired her to become a teacher and to major in science. This teacher showed her a love for the subject of science. Ms. Miranda’s mission is to give children purpose, set them up for success and inspire them to do well and succeed in life. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys playing sports, binge watching movies and reading comics/drawing.

Ms. Gober has a master’s degree in education. Spending time chaperoning and volunteering in the classrooms of her own children inspired Ms. Gober to become a teacher. This quickly made her decide she wanted to be a positive influence in the lives of young people. Ms. Gober puts all her time, energy, and effort into making school a positive place for students to be. She feels school should be a safe and enjoyable place that students want to be in, and she tries her best to create that environment for every student. Outside of the classroom, Ms. Gober loves to read, explore various types of art, and spend time with her family!

Ms. Batalan has a bachelor’s degree in education. Ms. Batalan’s passion for sharing what she knows inspired her to become a teacher. She wants her parents, students, and community to know that she cares for each student’s learning and wants to provide the best possible education. When Ms. Batalan is not in the classroom, she enjoys singing, dancing, and meditating!

Ms. White has a bachelor’s degree in education. Ms. White knew she always wanted to be a teacher, as a little girl she would always play pretend school for fun! Ms. White chose a teaching career after being a nurse because she wanted to make a difference. For her the best part about teaching is when students come back and tell her they are using what they learned in Math and Science in real life. Her main hobbies outside of the classroom include playing the piano, deep-sea fishing and spending time with her daughter!

Ms. Diras has a master’s degree in education. Ms. Diras had a high school English teacher that inspired her to become an educator. Ms. Diras is here to help every student develop their knowledge, enhance their social skills, and most importantly let her students know she is always there for them. Outside of the classroom, Ms. Diras enjoys listening to music, watching movies, and going out with her family!

Ms. Pascua has a master’s degree in education. While education wasn’t her first dream, after taking one education course in college, it quickly changed her dreams. Ms. Pascua is a passionate educator who goes above and beyond being a teacher. She puts her heart into her work and makes sure students learn every topic in her classroom. She wants to ensure each of her students go home with inspiration and motivation each day. Outside of the classroom, Ms. Pascua enjoys reading books, watching Hallmark movies, and listening to podcasts!
